The Department of Health and Huan Services told members of Congress that the agency had lost track of nearly 1,500 migrant children that they had placed with sponsors in the United States, raising concerns that the children could end up in the mitts of human traffickers or be utilized as laborers by people posing as relatives.
The children were conveyed into government care after they showed up at the Southeast border without their sponsors. The children will be placed into the custody of ORR. The agency will then work hard to find the sponsors who will take care of them while their parents are prosecuted.
The country is treating it like as if they are not responsible for the loss of about 1500 immigrant children. These children are supposedly given to sponsors that are closely related to them but lo and behold, they lost track. This means that they do not know anymore what is happening to the children. Take note that the US has a department that is supposedly in charge of the process of placing the immigrant children in the hands of the sponsors.
They are supposed to check and make sure that the children are in good hands. The department says that it is not their responsibility anymore what happens to the children after they go to the sponsors. What has happened to the children? They are still lost.
