IV's price has increased because of several factors. Plastics are made from oil, and the price of oil has increased; therefore, the price of the tubing, bags, clips, and hangers went up. The cost of the medications given through the IV has also increased. The cost of living has increased, and in turn, wages for the person administering the IV increased.

The charges to the insurance company for IV have increased, but yet they reimburse less. It is a global event with trickle down that has made the price of the IV increase. It is not just one part. It is the whole IV package and the process that has increased for the packaging, cost, and application.

The IV is known to be one of the most widely used medical interventions. It is used in different parts of the world. People who would need it are given IV immediately. There are different types available and the price tends to change depending on the type of IV that will be used. Over the past years, normal saline IV has become the most popular one. It is a bit cheaper than the usual type of IV and it is used for people who are dehydrated. Take note that the IV was first started in England.

It was the type of treatment used in order to treat cholera which makes the body dehydrated. By fighting dehydration, the sickness is also cured. An IV usually contains sodium, chloride, and potassium. Over time, the prices of these simple ingredients have increased which also made the price of the IV in general increase. The type of hospital where the IV is used may also affect its price.
