This is an issue of free speech, which is a significant concern for the left. The internet is supposed to be open and self-regulating. Public media plays a vital role in our democracy. Government intervention in this area has never produced a decent result. It only generates controlled, oppressive and unpopular results.
Also, there is no reason to waste government funds on controversial self-expression and art, which is funded by private donors. It is a shocking waste of money for propaganda. There is bias when it comes to issues such as free speech. It is an attempt to assert control over the technical and content aspects of the internet.
It seems that the FCC may have its own reasons for allowing companies to take control of the media. The FCC has stated that their main reason for allowing companies is to help companies grow as they get to know their audience better. If you would think about it though, it seems that they want to know more about the target market so they will be able to get rid of democracy entirely in the nation.
This may be the plan of the government in order to make the regime of the United States to be authoritarian. This is the reason why Ajit Pai is said to be the puppet of Donald Trump. He seems to be making decisions that will affect the freedom of people in the future.
