In my opinion, Michael John Kells Fleetwood, otherwise known as Mick Fleetwood, the drummer in Fleetwood Mac is the best drummer of all time. He was a self-taught drummer from his early childhood. On the album, Rumors, Fleetwood Mac and producer, Keith Olson collaborated on such memorable gems as “Dreams” and “Go your own way.” All the bass drum sounds had snap and warmth, but the snare drum on the whole album was a plastic puke.
“Tusk” was a breakthrough album and song by Fleetwood Mac. It was so unique and innovative because the song’s drumming is based on an interesting combination of a marching band sound and African dancing. Mick was initially inspired by a marching band that was playing outside his house one day. He was also responsible for selecting Lindsay Buckingham for the band, and he was able to highlight and accentuate Stevie Nick's ethereal voice and tone.
John Bonham was the best band drummer ever and it has been said he was the most significant drummer of all time. He was highly regarded for his speed, power, fast bass drumming, unique sound, and style. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him as number one in their list of the 100 Greatest Drummers of all time.
There have been many respectable drummers who have been influenced by Bonham, including Dave Grohl, Tommy Lee, Phil Collins, and Chad Smith. No one has ever compared to Bonham as far as drumming. He is considered to be one of the most outstanding and original drummers of his time. His popularity and influence resonate with the world of music and beyond.
