Some people loved Julius Caesar, others hated him. The poor loved Caesar because he got rid of corruption in the economy. He was loved by many and declared as dictator of life by the people.
Caesar stripped power off senators involved in bribery and corruption, he stripped them of power in the interest of the people, the Senate hated him for this reason. Caesar was loved by the masses and hated by the Roman senators.

Every Senator wanted to kill him except for Brutus. Caesar's popularity worried the senators because they were afraid that their positions would be overthrown. He angered the elites with his populist and authoritarian reforms. Caesar was a very controversial figure in history. He was both hated and celebrated.
Those who were happy with them. Some believed he had too much power. Caesar as a ruler is seen as the primary example of Caesarism, which is a form of political rule based upon a cult of personality whose control is by force. He established a violent social order, which many opposed.
