Like most politicians today, the same qualities that politicians have today the politicians have the same during ancient history. Those qualities include charm and leadership skills. Cassius had those qualities which made him a good leader. The difference between the leaders today and those in ancient times is that the leaders during ancient times had military experience and other backgrounds like in sailing.
Cassius sailed boats prior to being a politician and leader. He was also involved in military action during the country’s civil war. Cassius was a good leader because he had experience as a regular worker but he also had military experience and charisma with the citizens of Rome. This helped the people of Rome trust Cassius as a leader.
Cassius was able to perceive the pure motives of men and he was an excellent observer. He wanted to put a stop to the impending dictatorship of Caesar. He fought for freedom. He did what it took to protect the Roman republic.
Of all the leading characters in Julius Caesar, Cassius was also a much better leader in the beginning stages leading up to establishing a new government. Cassius is also cunning, worldly and wise. He initiated the assassination plot of Caesar. Cassius was also very much aware of whom he could and couldn’t trust.
