Lata Mangeshkar is an Indian playback singer and occasional music composer. She sang her first Hindi song in 1943 in the movie, “Gajabhau.” She widely regarded as the greatest and most influential female singer ever in India.
She has been awarded many prestigious awards. She is the second singer to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna, which is India's highest civilian award. She was the first Indian performer to sing at Royal Albert Hall in 1974. Lata is one of the most well-known singers of her time.
