There are more than a hundred different types of hats dating back to the caveman era. The hat served a practical purpose, a fashion statement and as part of a uniform. They include a range of styles, specific for different ethnicities, countries and religions. Many of the commonly known styles include the top hat, popular in the 1800s.
Moving on, we see the ascot cap, commonly associated with livestock farmers common on 1900s. There is the commonly seen baseball cap of today. The bearskin, beret, boater, bowler, cartwheel hat, cloche hat, fascinators and fedoras are some common examples of popular hats.
