One trend I personally don’t want to see return would be women’s high heeled flip flops. These are so many levels of wrong (even though I’ve owned a pair). First, wearing flip flops is already highly questionable for long periods of time according to science. Yes, they are fine for the beach, but not the high heeled variety.
Another reason high heeled flip flops need to stay in the past is because most of them were wedges, which only makes the shoe look like a failed attempt at a platform shoe. (Another trend that perhaps should stay in the past.) However, the fact that we haven’t seen high heeled flip flops for a long while is a good sign that they’re staying in the past.
Trends change over the years. However, some trends we never want to see out and about. These include the velour tracksuit. This was a trend in the 2000s and involved tight velvet track suits of bright colors. Fake hair scrunchies were also popular for doubtful reasons.
Thankfully, we are finally over the low rise jeans trend. It was a constant danger of exposing your underwear or your butt crack. Simultaneously, shutter shades in the accessories category were cringe worthy as well. Another one of the trends was the shrunk shirts that increased in size when you wore them. Their texture was not cool and the style was questionable.
