The #MeToo campaign is known to be a movement against sexual harassment. There are a lot of sexual predators in this world. This is one of the most successful campaigns especially since it has swept not only local celebrities but also celebrities from all over the world. There are some who are very open about speaking regarding empowerment of all people.
This is not just for women who were harassed or are being harassed. This is also for men who have experienced harassment at one point in their lives. Hopefully, other campaigns similar to this would also be successful. It can surely make a lot of difference with the industry.
Metoo was certainly successful. A host of women who had previously held their silence, sometimes for decades, now felt able to name their abuser. Has it been successful in so releasing others, not in the public eye, from the shame and distress of their abuse?
That is less certain while it remains a subsequent form of abuse when the victim has to subject to intimate investigative questioning in the courts. as for the initial campaign, It has resulted in bringing Weinstein to the courtroom to answer for his alleged offences. This will be ongoing and will set the standard for the treatment of similar accusations relating to other men in power.
