There have always been other theories for the creation of the Earth. Such a wish, to explain what we live on, and how this has come about, is natural to human beings. Creatively, these explanations are woven into our myths and fairy tales over the centuries that we have been beings with thoughts and the ability to speak. We needed the comfort of imagining an all-powerful being, a father figure, who created us all.
This led to religious theories of this kind. Scientific theories include the Big Bang, an electrical spark from lightning, molecules meeting on clay, deep sea vents producing molecules, capsules of molecules blending with each other and finally, our world might have been created by another from outer space.
