The proximate cause of loss

Answer C is correct. To establish that one persons actions toward another were negligent and caused injury or damage, the negligent act and the damage must be tied together. If there was no intervening cause and the negligent act led directly to the loss in an unbroken sequence of events, the negligent act was the proximate cause of loss.
