The trade war is likely to bring about higher prices fo the consumer. I am sure Trump hoped that US producers would up their effort and gain from the less dramatic comparison between prices for similar goods. It would also have been his hope that US goods would look more attractive overseas.
Whether this will prove to be the case, will be exposed once the quality and value for money on the US products are found. The Chinese will always have cheap and rapidly delivered goods on offer. These are always likely to be popular with consumers but not if they are as expensive as better quality goods.

The trade war between U.S. and China would positively affect India. China is the fourth-highest importer of Indian products. It will cost India more to import items. This would occur because China would be affected by the levy on imports then that would affect what they export. This would allow India to meet other countries demands for products.
It will also lead to higher inflation rates which means higher prices for the consumers. It will also affect Indian steel industry because the US tariffs on steel and aluminum will raise prices worldwide. The other affect has been the falling of the Indian market since February.
