For anyone who doesn’t listen to rap music, there was no hype because they didn’t know she was releasing an album. However, for rap music lovers, there are two groups of people: the people who believe in the hype, and those that didn’t believe in the hype around Cardi B’s new album.
There’s a third group who falls into that second group: the people who don’t want to believe an artist who’s been around for a year can achieve something great with her first album.
That said, a good look at the album’s stats will give anyone an idea of what the public in general thinks of her album. Since it achieved a gold record in about twenty-four hours, it’s done pretty well so far.
There will always be people who decry any meteoric rise to fame like Cardi B's and so there's a list of them saying they don't believe the hype over her new album Invasion of Privacy. However, since it achieved gold status within 24 hours of its release, I would think that speaks for itself.
Not only is the rapping electric, she's a good song writer, and with sales like this album's achieving, would she care if there's a whole army saying it isn't worth the hype?
