Many people get the two words “internet” and “Intranet” confused. They believe that these two words mean the same thing. Instead, an intranet is a network that only can be used by one group. This is because it is private. It is available on the Internet to access it. However, it is not the Internet itself.
This is because everyone has access to the Internet to retrieve information and send information, among other things. The root word “intra” means within or between. Therefore, if someone is using the intranet, they are probably using their own company’s way of communicating so that no one else can hack into their system. The Internet-like networks within an enterprise are called intranets.
