The answer to this is A. When the patient says that he/she will be taking the medication on an empty stomach, this means that the patient does not know a lot of details about this medication just yet. This type of medication is also known as a bronchodilator.

This means that it will dilate the bronchi and the bronchioles which means that the respiratory airway’s resistance will be decreased so that more air can go to the lungs. This may be administered to people who may have breathing difficulties but this should not be taken on an empty stomach. There are certain food products that this can be taken with so that they can be absorbed better by the body.

I will take the medication on an empty stomach.”

Theo-Dur is a bronchodilator. The medication should be administered with food such as milk and crackers to prevent GI irritation.
