There are a lot of basketball players who are known to be very good in the NCAA but there are always some who have managed to stand out such as Lew Alcindor. He used to be part of the UCLA and is still considered to be one of the best NCAA players of all time. From the years 1966 - 1969, he became one of the most prominent players in court.
There were a lot of people who looked up to him because he was able to show just how good he was. It was in the year 1967 when the dunk became banned because Alcindor can do it all over and over again. When it comes to college basketball, he is truly the man to beat.
The greatest NCAA basketball player of all would be the one and only Lew Alcindor of the UCLA Bruins. Alcindor would go on to be drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks but was more popularly known as Kareem Abdul Jabbar when he converted to Islam during his NBA career. In college though, Lew Alcindor was a beast. He played on three consecutive national championship teams and during all three of these national championship wins Alcindor was named the MVP of the Final Four. He was a two time consecutive national player of the year.
Alcindor was most noted as being one of the first collegiate dominating big men who could play all around the basket. It was in 1967 when the NCAA adopted a rule to ban the dunk all because of Alcindor and his dominating use of the move. There have been a lot of great college basketball players who have come and gone over the course of the years. Through it all, it was Lew Alcindor who was the best amongst them and the best college player of all time.
