Many people learn about the Panama Canal while in grade school. They have a fascination with the canal and many people want to visit it. Some of the countries that are worth visiting and attract tourists include Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and Guatemala. Many people visit Costa Rica because of the lush forests and animals that live there. It attracts tourists because of their beaches too.
They have several resorts that tempt many Americans to visit. Another country to visit would be Nicaragua because it is known for its historic capital city and the many things to do there. Guatemala is a country that flies under the radar due to its culture and beautiful architecture. It is becoming a more popular tourist attraction.
Traveling to Central America is always a great experience. Coming from the United States or European Countries, the cultures are diverse and colorful. This area also has the reputation of being affordable and absolutely beautiful. Nicaragua is a must see if in Central America for the first time. The colonial style of Leon and Granada are great to explore and there are a host of places to explore in a small area.
Guatemala is another fantastic country and offers the Tikal ruins which many people say are even better than Machu Picchu. Guatemala also offers coastlines and volcanoes to explore, as well as beautiful jungles. Finally, Mexico should be visited while you are in Central America. Not the typical towns of Cozumel or Cancun, but Mexico City and Oaxaca—it's different than you think.
