Many people confuse walruses and seals because of their many similarities. However, there are 2 major differences between these two species: habitat and appearance. Both species prefer the cold and cold water, however walruses tend to stay concentrated in Arctic seas, while seals move all around—some like warmer climates near the coasts of Hawaii or California.
Seals also thrive in the Antarctic, a place you would not find any walrus. Aesthetically speaking, walruses have brownish-pink skin, tusks, and large flippers in the rear and front. Seals do not have tusks, are shaped similarly to torpedoes, and have sharp teeth and claws. Usually, but not always, seals are smaller than walruses.
