Julius Caesar's death was as a result of conspiracy among his enemies (especially the senators). The act was led by Gaius Cassius Longinus, Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus, and Marcus Junius Brutus. The Roman senators hated him because they felt Julius Caesar was becoming too powerful and he was behaving like a dictator.
His enemies didn't like his policies and they believe he was acting more like a king over the people than a leader. The Senators also hated his because he was against corruption and he didn't hesitate to take out any senator that was found guilty. Julius Caesar was stabbed 23 times. He was assassinated on 15 March 44 BC, in Rome, Italy.
Julius Caesar was stabbed because both his friends and his enemies thought he was becoming too powerful and he was acting more like a king rather than a leader of the Roman Republic. He was named dictator for life after victoriously returning from war with Pompey. Caesar’s enemies were supporters of Pompey.
Caesar’s friends did not like many of his policies aimed at helping the common people, or his efforts to make peace with Pompey’s supporters. So a conspiracy was born and an assassination was planned and carried out. Caesar was reportedly stabbed twenty-three times on what has become known as the Ides of March.
