With over 6000 languages in the world, many of these languages are gradually dying out. The rarest languages in the world today are Taushiro spoken near the Tigre River and Kaixana Spoken near the Japura River in Brazil, South America. Each of these 2 language have only one native speaker left.
Other rare language gradually going into extinction are: Lemerig with only 2 speakers, Chemehuevi with 3 speakers, Njerep with 4 speakers, Liki with 5 speakers, Ongota with 6 speakers, Dumi with only 8 speakers left, Chamicruo with less than a dozen speakers left.
It is hard to believe but there are around 6,500 different languages that are spoken throughout the world today. The most rarest language that is spoken is believed to be Taushiro. It is said to have only one native speaker and it comes from the Tigre River. Other rare languages that are spoken throughout the world are Lemerig from the island nation of Vanauatu, Tanema which comes from the Soloman Islands, Dumi which is spoken in parts of Nepal, and Chamicruo which has its origins from South America, specifically in Peru.
There are many more rare languages that can be noted as well. The main reason that these languages have become rare is that the places that they originated from has either disappeared or more and more people are abandoning the native area. The good thing is that there linguists out there who are studying these languages to keep them alive in some form and being able to note them for future generations.
