Why does Thanos want to destroy half the world in infinity war?

Thanos is known to be strong. With just one snap of his fingers and the infinity stones, he will able to wipe out half of the world immediately it would not take long before he can take care of the other half. They say that the main reason for this is because Thanos has fallen in love with the Grim Reaper. He wants to show that he can kill people too in order to be accepted into her heart.

There are some drawings in the comics wherein Thanos and Hela have locked lips several times. The thing that should be remembered here is his reasons for thinking that killing people will make the Goddess of Death happy.

Infinity War by Marvel Studios was a smashing success in the box office and among fans and critics alike. From the captivating characters to the excellent special effects and of course, a great villain. Thanos was arguably one of the best, if not the best, super villains in Marvel movie history this far. But there was one question that left the audience a little bit confused: Why did Thanos want to destroy only half of the world in Infinity War. Well, as is the case with most bad or evil people, Thanos sees himself as the hero of the story and cannot see how destructive his intentions would be if he was successful.

Thanos did not want to destroy half of the world, but he felt that it was the only way and only he was powerful enough to pull it off. Thanos talks about his home world and how it was great but it eventually became too populated and that ended with the downfall of his home world. Therefore Thanos feels that by eliminating half of the universe that there would be more for the half that are left.
