Marvel movies are one of the biggest movie genres today. They have been coming out multiple times a year for the last few years and grossing an extraordinary amount of money for each video. While these movies are still wildly popular, they are not perfect. One big issue that has been pointed out numerous times is that Marvel severely overuses CGI in their films and often in ways that are obvious and brings the audience out of the movie experience.
One of these examples is Avengers: Age of Ultron. The CGI quality in Avengers: Age of Ultron was one of the worst in Marvel Cinematic Universe history. It was better than what DCEU and what other franchises do but given past CGI from Marvel studios Age of Ultron was inferior.
Marvel has become masterful when it comes to CGI in the MCU films. Their CGI has been practically perfect since the first Iron Man. Movies made by other studios about Marvel characters are another story altogether. The disappointment starts with Ang Lee’s Hulk followed by Fantastic Four and X-Men 3.
Ever since Marvel took up the reigns of their characters they have certainly been better.
I honestly couldn’t think of any bad CGI moments in the MCU. People have been criticising Thanos and comparing it to Justice League’s Steppenwolf, but the amount of detail Thanos’ CGI face shows is admirable. Originally, Thanos had terrible CGI in the first Avengers but this time it is unbelievable. I get goosebumps every time that I see him.
Overall, I don't think Marvel has had bad CGI moments.
