Is there any movie better than Shawshank Redemption?

Redemption is obviously a good movie but not the best movies as movies are based on individual perception. The Shawshank redemption movie tells the story of a banker who was sentenced to life in Shawshank state for the murder of his wife and her lover, which he did not commit.

After Andy Dufresne, the banker, spent some time in the prison, another prisoner that was a contraband smuggler made Andy one of their acquaintance in their money laundering business.

This movie is no doubt a good movie as it was produced and directed by intelligent people with the likes of Niki Marvin and Frank Darabont, respectively. It is also starring great actors such as Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton, William Sadler, Clancy Brown, Gil Bellows, and James Whitmore.

There are a lot of people who believe that Shawshank Redemption has to be one of the best films ever made. It will always depend on one person to another to decide what film is the best. For example, you may think that it is the best film but there are other people who will not agree with you.

They will say that they can think of other films that may offer something more than this film. Some people believe that Godfather has to be the best film. They have also watched all of the installments of Godfather because of this. Those who never liked this genre will probably think of another genre to appreciate instead.

This is a very opinion based question, but in my opinion yes, there are movies better than Shawshank Redemption. Shawshank Redemption is a fantastic movie and considered one of the best movies of all time but there are other movie titles which also live up to, if not pass, Shawshank Redemption.

A movie that is very similar in some ways that I feel surpasses Shawshank Redemption is Green Mile. Green Mile is another prison based movie which stars Tom Hanks as one of the main characters. It was based on the novel by Stephen King by the same name. It is a fantasy crime drama and if you liked Shawshank, you will love Green Mile.
