The Commonwealth of Nations is the second largest intergovernmental union of countries in the world behind the United Nations. The United Nations boasts 193 members with the Commonwealth of Nations having a total of 72 members. The African Union is the next biggest intergovernmental organization with 55 member countries. The European Union has a total of 28 member states.

The Commonwealth of Nations are the four main countries of Great Britian in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland along with all of the territories, states, and possessions that are under the British Royal throne. Each and everyone of these states pay homage and adherence to the ruling monarch of Great Britan which currently would be Queen Elizabeth II.

Every four years, the Commonwealth of Nations participate in the Commonwealth Games which is an international olympic style competition. This year the Commonwealth Games were held in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
