Tie-dye is a color combination that can be made quite easily. It gives a shirt, pants or other fabric or outfit to have a certain look. Tie-dyed outfits are easily to identify. They are usually very colorful and are in a certain pattern. Sometimes, though tie-dyed outfits are one single color. These outfits were very popular during the hippie movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Many people wore tie-dyed everything.
Today, tie-dyed outfits are not as popular as they once were. Usually, today people only wear tie-dyed outfits if they are attending an event that is about 1960s or 1970s or they are trying to look like a hippie. If someone wore a tie-dyed t-shirt as a fashion statement, then they would most likely look out of place.
