Tokelau's language is part of the Austronesian language family and is considered to be part of the subgroup of Polynesian languages. Over half of the native speakers of Tokelauan reside in New Zealand. Tokelauan is considered an endangered language. There are no much speakers of this language.
The Tokelau language originated from a territory of New Zealand which is located near the Samoan Islands. The island nation is actually made up of three different tropical atolls which have a total of 4 square miles in area. This is the first and only country in the entire world that is powered 100 percent by solar power.

The country had started instialling photovoltaic energy cells all throughout the country beginning in 2012. The country is served by three different power stations that in turn deliver solar power to the residents. The language is held sacred in the country and there are huge efforts by natives to makes sure that records and kept about the history of the language.
