CGI which stands for Computer Graphics Interface. It is used for creating special effects in films and televisions. CGI has been used in movies for many years now. 2D CGI was first used in movies in 1973's.
Each cell of the film is scanned with a film scanner into the negative and it is saved in a digital format. After that, CGI images are merged with the negative then the product is sent for editing, after editing the final product is saved and converted to digital format. The film is then sent to the appropriate department. CGI is common nowadays in movies. It is used in almost all movies.
