The ipod died slowly, ipod has had its days, it lasted for a long period of time and now does days have passed. Many devices have replaced its function. It days are over.

Then one can certainly say that the smartphone brought an end to the iPod. Smartphones can store thousands of music titles just like an iPod could. The smartphone became the new fad and with any new fad the old ones are most certainly shown the door or at least collecting dust on the shelf.
