The Chinese culture and personality type is very different from those in the West. There seems to be a great tendency to follow one way or obey one edict. Perhaps a long history of oppression is the answer why the Chinese put up with the one-child policy for so long withou revolt, and, more helpfully, how they rid themselves of a bad fly problem by religiously killing any fly tha came their way.
Sadly, more democratic ways of operating seem to be disappearing in modern China. A subterranean force removing elements of different opinion, faith ad so on is what seems to be happening now. The large camps th have recently been detected are imagn to be enforced brain-washing, as happened in thetime of Mao Tse Tung.
I believe Chinese laws are so oppressive because just like other Communist countries, oppressive laws are needed to keep control of the people. A communist government like the Communist Party of China (CPC) is afraid if they give people too many rights and freedoms, the people will protest too much and start to challenge the government’s legitimacy.
The CPC tries to assert complete control over nearly every part of people’s lives by restricting freedom of speech, freedom of religion, taking away property rights and criminalizing ordinary economic activities. History has shown wherever “communist and noncommunist states existed in close proximity, it was the communists who used walls and the threat of death to keep their people from fleeing to societies with greater opportunity.”
