There are just some film genres that are often overlooked whenever the awarding season comes around. It will be hard to find a horror film that has won best picture. It is not actually a surprise that MCU films have not won any awards yet. Superhero films are great and they make a lot of money in the box office.
Yet, it should be remembered that there are other films that should be considered. Some of these films are not as popular but they have stories that can truly change the way that people think about life. If you would come to think of it, it might be a bit hard to find films like that. Perhaps there are just other films that are more deserving compared to MCU films.
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies have not won any Oscars as of 2018 but their biggest blockbuster yet, Black Panther, is hoping to break the drought during the 2019 Oscars. Blank Panther was not eligible for any Oscar awards in 2018 because it wasn’t released the previous year, which is a requirement for Oscar nominated films.
It’s very interesting that MCU movies have not won any Oscars yet since they have been huge sellers at the box office and have become one of the biggest movie franchises in history. But, I would be willing to bet you’ll see Black Panther win at least one Oscar in 2019.
