Was Nicolas Cage's choice of movies the reason for his career's downfall?

There was a time when Nicolas Cage is known to be one of Hollywood’s best actors. He received a lot of movie offers and a lot of people wanted to be like him. Aside from his movie choices wherein some of the movies bombed in the box office, there are some people who were scared to work with him.

Some feel that he is just so intense. Some say that the main reason for his downfall is because he owes the IRS a lot of money. He did some spending that was truly over the top. Whatever he earned, he has already lost them. Who knows, he might become popular again in the future but as of now, people think of him as a has-been.

Nicolas Cage's somewhat poor choice in movies certainly played a factor in his fall from Hollywood's grace. Nicolas Cage is a popular actor who made a name for himself with hit movies but his popularity seems to have really been on the decline. Due to some poor financial planning on Cage's part, the money he made from those big movies quickly disappeared and left the actor in a lot of distress.

So instead of being more strategic about the types of movies and the quality of the script, Nicolas Cage tried out for just about any role that he could. This means that he was able to continue to replenish his finances but he had to accept roles that either were not right for him or movies with a less than great script.
