It is common sense to think that consumers would be aware of large companies and corporations, but that is not even usually the case. Companies can be very large and play important roles in the consumer's day to day life but still remain unknown to the general public.
An example of one of these comapnies is Vitol which was founded in 1966 by two men named Henk Vietor and Jacques Detiger in Rotterdam. Vitol is the largest independent trader of energy in the world and yet remains unknown to most people. The deal with oil, gas, coal, power and more. Vitol is the ninth largest company in the world.
