Dialects are basic manners of speaking. Every language has different dialects. Of course, there are different ways that people speak a language, which becomes a specific quality of the area. Australian English is simply a dialect of the American English. This is because English is constant and is the actual language.
However, Australian English is a special style of speaking the language. This makes it a particular dialect. In addition, it I considered as a regional dialect as it is considered a specialty of the area. Today, we consider Australian English as people who either live in Australia since the early years or are born in Australia.
In a language, there are a number of different dialects. Each dialect has its own pronunciation and way of speaking. The accent on the other hand is a way of speaking. In simple terms, Australian English can be described as a dialect of English because it carries characteristics of pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary that are different as compared to the other English language varieties.
Apart from that, it could also be described as a regional dialect because it is spoken in one particular geographical location that is Australia. In the present day, the speakers of Australian English are the ones who are either born in the Australian region or move their during early childhood.
