If you are designing something and you are using technology, the ITIL Service Design would be a good product to use because it is set up to help with IT services. Some of their components and levels include the supplier management, architecture management, compliance management, information security management, IT service continuity management, availability management, capacity management, risk management, service level management, service catalogue management, and the design coordination.

Each of these positions has a responsibility or job to do based on their own objective. During the Service Design phase of the lifecycle, certain things may take place. Some of these things include the hardware and software design, environmental design, process design and data design. All of these things would need to happen in order to create the product.
