2 story building occupying 40% of a 1 acre site

Given that FAR is calculated as a ratio between the gross square footage of a building and the size of a lot, a 2 story building occupying 40% of a 1 acre site would produce the highest FAR, at 0.8. The 1 story building covering 50% of a 5 acre site, the 1 story building covering 50% of a 10 acre site and the 5 story building covering 10% of a 1 acre site would all have an FAR of 0.5. To answer this question correctly, one should ignore the actual size of the site (1 acre, 5 acre, etc) and instead determine the relationship between lot coverage and the number of stories in the building.*##**##*
