The root hair plexus is also known as a sensory nerve. This is a type of nerve that is in charge of carrying some signals from the place where the sensation has occurred to the central nervous system. The sensory nerves are actually very sensitive. They will be able to detect if there are some changes with the environment and they would turn the stimuli to impulses depending on what is needed.
This may explain why there are times when you would feel like your hair is standing up especially on your arms and legs. This is your body’s way of telling you that the place that you are currently in is too cold. Your body would also start to sweat when it is too hot so that your body can adjust to this temperature change.
