Personification is the act of attributing human characteristics to non-human or inanimate objects. The most appropriate answer to this question would have been apostrophe rather than personification.

Apostrophe is a part of speech that addresses inanimate objects as if there were present and alive. Example of such is – Death! Where is thy sting? O Grave! Where is thy victory?

But since apostrophe is not present in the options above, personification is the closet to the best answer.
Simile is the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind – As calm as a Dove
Metaphor is applying a word or phrases to an object to which is not applicable – Love is a battlefield.

This is more of an apostrophe than personification. In apostrophe, an idea, a thing or an inanimate object is addressed as though it were a human.

In Personification inanimate objects and abstract ideas are spoken of as if they were persons or bearing human quality. On the other hand, an apostrophe is a form of personification. In an apostrophe, the writer addresses some inanimate thing or an absent person as if it were present. In this case, the given example is an apostrophe but since it is not included in the choices it is acceptable to be an example of personification since apostrophe is a form of personification.
