I believe that there are a larger number of mass shootings in schools and colleges due to the people wanting to copycat what they see on television. These people see that the shooters are becoming famous because people now see the shooter’s face and name on the television many times.
People think that they will be famous and want their fifteen minutes of fame without realizing that they are really going to prison for a long time or they will get the death penalty. Also, I do think that there were many shootings and violence at school in the past, but I think that it was not publicized like it is today. It would not have made national news or have received as much attention as it does today. So, it seems that there are more shootings today.
