By their nature, viruses tend to get spread throughout by propagation over an OS after compromising one program after another. The iPad and Iphone do not allow applications to communicate with each other without the user’s approval, viruses do not spread around the device. In other words, the languages that normal virus files speak are not the one that the IOS device recognizes and understands.

Hence, the viruses remain significantly suppressed. Apart from that, IOS is also a system which is closed. This means that it is not possible to download stuff on it from outside the apple universe which is highly secure and controlled.
