World War I and World War II had significant impacts on the way countries are split up and named. Even today, these wars are changing the way the world map looks. Most of the major changes happened in Europe, but implications were felt all over the world.
Almost every country in the world was impacted by World War I and World II, if not directly, than indirectly through changes in foreign policy decisions. The current instability in the Middle East can be directly attirubuted to World War II and we may see changes in maps in Israel, Palastine, and the West Bank.
