Tennis experts seem to agree that Serena Williams would not fare very well in a men’s grand slam match. A couple of opinions are largely based on a friendly match between Serena Williams and Karsten Braasch. It’s been reported that after watching the men practice for the Australian Open in 1998, the sisters bragged they could beat any man ranked 200 or below.
Braasch, who at the time was ranked 203, easily beat Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2. It has been written, he even had a few beers, played a little golf and smoked a few cigarettes the morning of the match. Of course, Serena was only sixteen years old at the time.
