People may have messages in their WhatsApp that they think are safe and nobody can see them. So, they are more willing to type in information that they would not and don’t think anybody else will see. However, sometimes admissions of guilt about a crime may be typed into a WhatsApp message. The police would want access to that information in order to use it in court.

However, people wonder whether it can be used in court. It all depends on where the court is located. In many countries overseas, there are courts that have allowed these messages to be admitted into evidence. Therefore, there may be times when these messages can be admitted into court as long as you know for sure that the user actually wrote the message.
