Aristotle is so famous because he is one of the famous Greek “thinkers”. He studied virtually every subject and developed many theories which lasted well into the 20th century. His studies included biology, ethics, politics, and poetics (art, music, poetry). He has been called the founder of zoology and he wrote the first book on psychology. Aristotle was also a tutor to Alexander, the son of King Phillip of Macedonia.

Alexander became king when his father died, and he eventually became known as Alexander the Great. He conquered much of the Mediterranean region, spreading the teachings of Aristotle along the way.
