Henry VIII was the king of England for 36 years. He is probably considered a game changer in English Monarchy because he supported the Church of England, separating from the Catholic Church after the Pope refused to annul his first marriage to Catherine of Aragon so that he could marry Anne Boleyn. This was basically the start of the English reformation.

Over the next four years, Henry VIII oversaw the destruction of over 800 monasteries. The monastery’s lands and treasures were stolen by the crown. The crown kept most of the treasures and sold off the stolen land to the Henry VIII’s nobility.
