Many high school students don’t know whether they would like to go to college or go straight into a job. This depends on what the high school student wants to do. If the student isn’t sure, then he or she may want to get a job to see if they like that. If they go to college without an idea, then he or she might be wasting money.

However, if the student knows that she or he wants to go to college, then the first two years of college are usually the standard classes that everyone has to take. If a high school student is interested in a job that does not necessarily require college or it would not benefit him or her in their job, then I would say that the person needs to go straight into the workforce.
