Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan may be one of the best war movies of all time. The directing and acting were excellent, the story was compelling and heart wrenching, and the cinematography was beautiful and intense. It is Hollywood movie at its best, with the best actors, best directors, high budget, and huge ticket sales at the box office.
The premise of the movie alone is emotional- the idea of saving the last surviving brother of four so that the mother has at least one son left. Saving Private Ryan will undoubtedly go down in history as a classic war movie and one that is historically significant.
