I think the next breakthrough technology will be something that combines all the devices we currently have for different functions. Right now we have phones, laptops, televisions, drivers' licenses, keys to start our cars and get into our houses, and numerous options to pay for goods and services.
I think there is going to be a way to combine all these things and more into one sleek and managable device that we can carry in our pockets. It seems that technology is headed towards simplification. This would be the ultimate simplification of technology. It would save time and space in our lives.
