Yes, I do think the Weeknd was disloyal to Drake when Weeknd decided to not join Drake’s record label. Drake did a lot to help Weeknd’s career and Drake deserves a lot of credit for getting people to initially notice Weeknd. Drake cosigned Weeknd about eight years ago (as of 2018).
Before that, Drake tweeted about Weeknd which caught the attention of music critics and music lovers and they collaborated on several songs, for Drake’s album Take Care. Weeknd subsequently decided to sign with Republic Records. They are reportedly still friends even though Weeknd didn’t sign up with Drake’s record label.
