The Weeknd has been quite successful in selling records and making music with the vocal range that he has. Just because he does not have a wide vocal range does not mean that he cannot sing or that the vocal range that he does have is not good. There is also more to his music than his voice. The greatest appeal of his music is his ability to talk about emotional subjects in a way that resonates with a large audience.
He speaks a truth that is rarely heard in music and that is what people want to hear, not necessarily an amazing voice.
